Public Transit Gains In Calgary

In Canada, an increasing number of Calgary-area residents are choosing public transit.

"An estimated 499,045 Calgary-area residents make their way to jobs throughout the city, according to new data contained in the 2001 federal census -- an increase of about 20 per cent in five years.And although the automobile is still the preferred mode of transportation, the data reveals that a small but growing number of motorists are parking their cars, trucks and SUVs in favour of public transit."
