Urban Design for Character-Based Environments

PlaceMakers, LLC

Walking through lessons learned in a number of real life case studies, Geoff Dyer, Principal and Lead Designer at PlaceMakers will examine various categories of infill, brownfield, and greenfield. The steps of the master planning process will first be considered, followed by methods of form-based urban design in a variety of settings.

A sought-after urban designer throughout North and Central America, Geoff has distinguished himself with place-sensitive work in distinctive environments. Over the past several years he has created innovative town plans and coding solutions for public and private clients in Alberta, British Columbia, and Manitoba, including Calgary, AB and Revelstoke, BC. Geoff has also worked extensively across the United States, including Ranson, WV, Woodstock, GA, Layton, UT, Kona, HI, and El Paso, TX, to name a few. Geoff shares urban design insights on the PlaceShakers blog.
