Putnam is a groundbreaking book based on vast new data in which Putnam shows how we have become increasingly disconnected from family, friends, neighbors, and our democratic structures-- and how we may reconnect. However, the reviewer concludes: "But if Robert Putnam really wants to promote a great awakening, he may have to learn to speak and listen in a different vocabulary for his next book."
