In a lecture delivered to members of the American Institute of Architects at the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art, San Diego Architect Teddy Cruz reveals his inspiration for creating buildings and places in "divided cities" such as San Diego, CA, and Tijuana, Mexico.

Cruz, who currently teaches at Woodbury University, is forming the "Border Institute" (BI) to further research the urban phenomena at the border between the United States and Mexico.
