The Riverside County Transportation Commission will study four newhighway corridors, including connections with Orange and San BernardinoCounties, as well as two interior roads. The studies are part of thecounty's integrated plan process to balance environmental concerns witheconomic development and traffic relief. Opponents of the studies, including the Sierra Club and some county supervisors, believe the newroads invite environmental problems while reinforcing RiversideCounty's unwelcome role as a bedroom community for other counties.
