New long-haul bus routes will connect cities located in the Arkansas Valley in Colorado starting early in 2018. More new lines will be added later in the year.

"The Colorado Department of Transportation’s long-haul bus system is expanding to the Arkansas Valley," reports John Aguilar, with new service between Pueblo and Lamar launching in the new year.
"The new Outrider line along U.S. 50 will operate similarly to the existing Bustang lines that run passengers between Denver and Colorado Springs, Fort Collins and Glenwood Springs," adds Aguilar.
CDOT has been testing the appetite for the new service in the Arkansas Valley for the last six months and spokesman Bob Wilson said interest is high. Ridership on the northern Bustang lines jumped 52 percent in its second year of operation, according to a CDOT report released this past summer.
The article also includes details of additional services expected later in 2018.
