Heather Leighton looks for a benefit to the tough stretch of flooding around the state of Texas—a bright side to view the natural events that wrought destruction and pain over the past two years.
Along those lines, Texas Parks and Wildlfife, however, published a video "about the many benefits to nature whenever there is a flood," which you can watch below. "Granted, the benefits don't totally apply to the concrete jungle we call Houston," writes Leighton, "but outside of the city limits, a river ecosystem thrives in unique ways during floods."
