According to an article by Jenna Chandler in Curbed LA, plans for nearly a dozen tall towers were filed last year in Los Angeles, more than half of which could properly be called "skyscrapers." Another has already been proposed this year.

Explore Curbed LA's map of the 20 tall towers on their way to the city skyline—the tallest of which is 73 stories. Most are clustered in Downtown Los Angeles, an area the L.A. Times reports is seeing its biggest construction boom since the 1920s.

Los Angeles is not the only place building more and more, and taller and taller, skyscrapers. Also check out new and unique towers throughout the West Coast; in New York and London; and around the world.
