A do-it-yourself survey effort reveals some of the facts about what's it like to work as a transportation planner.

Rachel Dovey shares news of a recent survey that shed light on the professional field of transportation planning. The survey was created by Paul Supawanich, director of customer success at Remix, who "used Google to crowdsource a spreadsheet that offers a snapshot of employment in the sector — from salaries and paid time off, to education levels and benefits."
"More than 150 people, many from the San Francisco Bay Area, participated anonymously," adds Dovey.
Assumed throughout the article was the lack of information about the profession prior to the survey. Both Dovey and Supawanich pronounce the survey a good start on correcting that lack of information, however.
