Political drama connected to the funding of affordable will require changes to the mayor's proposed city budget.
"Seattle City Council members voted 7-2 in a budget-committee meeting Wednesday to move ahead with a $29 million bonds-for-housing plan," reports Daniel Beekman.
Councilmember Lisa Herbold created the plan behind the bonds in the hopes of developing hundreds of affordable housing units and paying off the bonds over 30 years. The proposal runs counter to a budget proposal by Mayor Ed Murray that would allocate $54 million for affordable housing.
