Temperature Rises In Tokyo Blamed On Development

Tokyo temperatures are rising to uncomfortable levels due to increased development.

Temperatures in Tokyo are rising at four times the pace of global warming - 3 degrees in the 20th century - and the city's climate is increasingly tropical rather than temperate. This rise in temperature is being blamed on an increase in development - this is creating more heat from air conditioning and from heat retaining materials - and on more and more high rise blocks cutting off cooling sea breezes.
