UN-Habitat Launches University Network Initiative

UN-Habitat's University Network Initiative (UNI) has launched a new web portal.

UN-Habitat's University Network Initiative (UNI) connects university-based researchers and educators to UN Habitat activities. Their new web portal, uni.unhabitat.org, provides a place for faculty and universities to register as individual and institutional members of UNI and gives access to their Global Urban Lecture videos, research Hubs on Informal Urbanism, Climate Change, Urban Regeneration, Safer Cities, Urban Accessibility, Urban Governance, Gender, and Urban Form.

The portal also resources about university participation in the Habitat III gathering to take place in Quito in October 2016.

Bruce Stiftel, FAICP, is professor emeritus of city and regional planning at Georgia Tech. His research concerns planning theory, adaptive governance, and international development. He chairs the Planners for Climate Action knowledge/research group, co-chairs the Researcher and Academic Partner Constituency Group in the World Urban Campaign, co-chairs U.N. Habitat's University Network Initiative, and is a Director At-large of the American Planning Association.
