The latest edition of The Paris Review includes a portfolio of 16 images by Mark Yankus. The print publication was kind enough to provide a sample of these deeply texture images online.
The cover of the Winter issue of The Paris Review features a photograph called "Stairs Building," taken in Manhattan on 39th Street between 7th and 8th avenues. The photo is by Mark Yankus, who has 16 similarly unique images featured in the issue.
Yankus explains his fascination with buildings such as the one in the cover image: "I’m not sure what it is about some buildings that just stops me in my tracks. Everything around them vanishes. I notice that I am often attracted to older architecture and unusual, forgotten buildings." We share a link to these images in the hopes that you can find inspiration from the forgotten, singular buildings of your city as well.
