Overview
What are the latest on-line tools for the next generation of public participation? This webinar will present three field-tested tools that are changing the way people are involved in community planning. See how MindMixer, Crowdbrite and Open Town Hall are working in communities to increase the quantity and quality of charrette participation.
Peak Democracy Inc's Open Town Hall service enables planners to augment and diversify engagement with the community - using online forums that are civil, legal, and insightful as well as easy to use and inexpensive. The company will demo how its forums differ from the misinformation, vitriol and bullying that is endemic to other online forums, blogs and crowd-sourcing tools. Peak Democracy will also show how government agencies across the US are using Open Town Hall's analysis tools to synthesize voluminous online feedback.
Crowdbrite provides on-line meeting participation for projects ranging from physical design to policy. It has the capability to conduct a live discussion on alternative designs during charrettes. Crowdbrite has been used for civic engagement, design review and competitions, mobile asset mapping, place-based visual preference surveys, action planning & capital improvement programs, and currently statewide economic development? in California.
MindMixer is a web and mobile platform that generates a broader audience and creates more effective community participation, leading to measurable results and invaluable insights for community leaders and elected officials. MindMixer played a central role in generating pre-charrette discussions during the recent El Paso comprehensive plan project. The Mindmixer platform increased the quantity and quality of charrette participation.
