IEDC is proud to present a Silent Auction at the 2011 Annual Conference in Charlotte, North Carolina. The Silent Auction will be held in the Economic Development Marketplace (Exhibit Hall) and will support the Diane Lupke Scholarship Fund. The Scholarship Fund helps economic development professionals working in distressed communities continue their industry education.
IEDC needs your donations to help make the Silent Auction a success! Your contribution is a great way to support a deserving person to take IEDC's professional development courses, and have fun at the Annual Conference. The silent auction will take place in the exhibition hall beginning on Sunday, September 18th at 1:00 pm and will conclude in conjunction with the Ice Cream Social on Monday, September 19th at 3:15 pm.

Please send your items to IEDC as soon as possible (Items must be in no later than Friday, September 2 ***donation forms must be in by Friday, August 26) along with a copy of the donation form. We will ship all items to the hotel.

INTERESTED IN APPLYING FOR AN IEDC EDUCATION SCHOLARSHIP? THE DEADLINE IS APPROACHING!
IEDC is proud to offer four scholarships to attend any IEDC education course of the recipient's choice. Applicants must work for an organization based in a distressed community. Two scholarships will be awarded to IEDC members and two to non-members.
Diane Lupke, CEcD, President of Lupke & Associates and a strong advocate for ED initiatives within distressed communities, is the founder of this education scholarship fund. The scholarship recipient is able to enhance his or her knowledge in economic development through participation in IEDC Training Courses.

ABOUT THE ANNUAL CONFERENCE
The International Economic Development Council's Annual Conference is the premiere 2011 conference for the economic development industry. Last year, over 1200 people attended the Annual Conference in Columbus, OH, to network, discover new tools and services, and share lessons learned. Themed "Connect Locally, Succeed Globally," we'll be discussing how economic developers are adapting to the new normal and rewriting the rules for economic development. A conference like this only happens once a year.
