Concerns over whether the new Arizona Cardinals football stadium will be a hazard to regional air traffic prompt delays.
The FAA in July declared the stadium a potential hazard for pilots using Sky Harbor International Airport. Phoenix officials cite those findings in the complaint, referring to a state law that bars airport hazards. But the state Tourism and Sports Authority insists that most of the FAA's concerns were addressed in a revised site plan, which shifts the stadium 1,600 feet east, farther away from the airport's North Runway. Authority officials also say they will do no above-ground work on the project until the FAA issues its report.
