"Although progress is being made in affordable housing, the demographics of metropolitan areas such as Petaling Jaya and Kuala Lumpur could soon resemble the demographics of the Third World--the very rich, the heavily subsidised poor, and the transient, including both visitors and workers. The middle class the young families, etc, who want to own their homes may be left with no choice but to keep away, and the community will be permanently changed because of this."
