"In cities throughout the South...therehas been a rapid growth of urban development...Yet despite recent changes, most Southern metropolitan areas still have a very low percentage of their office space actually located in their central business districts. Whereas metropolitan regions likeChicago or New York have more than half of their office space in their central business districts, Southern cities like Nashville, Memphis and Atlanta have at least three-quarters of their office work force located in suburban and peripheral locations...But more recently, many Southern cities, including Huntsville, have rediscovered the economic advantage of developing dynamic urban cores..."
