A new California regional organization announces its new website and the release of a report on California's regional technology efforts.
The California Center for Regional Leadership (CCRL) will support and promote innovative regional solutions for California's challenges, and includes a free email newsletter which visitors can sign up to receive. The website and newsletter will feature the latest news and activities affecting California's regions. As part of the Center's continuing commitment to support regional civic organizations across the state, CCRL has also created a "Civic Navigator" site to facilitate on-line communications for the network of California's twenty Collaborative Regional Initiatives (CRIs). CCRL is also releasing a report to stimulate discussion about how Californias regional organizations and local agencies use technology-based planning and decision tools for better planning and civic engagement. In this report, Informed Regional Choices: How California's Regional Organizations are Applying Planning and Decision Tools, the authors surveyed California's regional organizations to better understand how they are using decision tools. The report also makes the case for a statewide networked resource center -- The California Alliance for Regional Information Technologies (CARIT) -- to support the efforts of California's diverse regional initiatives and organizations.
