Building from the Best of Tucson
Sonoran Institute
In "Building from the Best of Tucson," 24 community leaders joined together to identify best development practices and local projects that reflect those practices. Projects highlighted are included for their ability to preserve cultural and historical resources, encourage a greater sense of community, and protect the desert environment. The report also discusses the policy implications of encouraging higher quality development. It is ultimately intended to help local officials, planners, community leaders, builders, developers, and architects evaluate proposed development projects to see if they meet a broader set of local values.
