How will Southern California deal with an unprecedented pressure on the region's infrastructure?
In the next 10 to 20 years, the Los Angeles region is expected to experience tremendous growth -- in terms of both population and international trade -- putting unprecedented pressure on the region's infrastructure. So how will Southern California's leaders come together to plan the necessary infrastructure to cope with this growth? Helping in this effort is the Los Angeles Economic Development Corporation's soon-to-be-released document, "60 Mile Circle: A Regional Portrait," which sets out a baseline for coming up with solutions by detailing the many challenges faced. Metro Investment Report speaks with with three LAEDC principals--Viggo Butler, Lee Harrington, & Greg Freeman--about what they hope this document will accomplish.
