Santa Barbara case has implications for public beach access on both coasts. Wendy McCaw says that her easement is illegal.

Easements granted by ocean-front property owners have gone unclaimed by local governments. Santa Barbara County moved to secure their easements before the 20- year deadline expires. McCaw is among the property owners who sued to block the action. The decisions here may have implications for public access on both coasts.
