The Land Trust Alliance has gathered the results of open space protection measures for each state for the last three years.
"Voters overwhelmingly approved ballot measures to fund open space protection in 2000, according to the Land Trust Alliance (LTA), which has gathered the results of such elections for the past three years. LTA data show that 175 of 208 such ballot questions passed in 2000, providing more than $7.4 billion for land conservation. In most of these referenda, voters approved tax increases to pay for land conservation."
