Metro Investment Report presents an insider's candid review of what happens when a former environmental advocate finds himself working from the inside.
What happens when a former environmental advocate finds himself working from the inside? For one thing, he becomes an excellent source for an update on the Legislature's environmental progress. MIR spoke with Bill Craven, former Director of Sierra Club California and now a Special Consultant to the State Assembly's Natural Resources Committee, about the bills that did and did not make it through this legislative session, as well as his thoughts on green power, the Cal-Fed plan, and mobile source pollution. Craven also describes the larger narratives emerging from the State's leaders in regard to Smart Growth and affordable housing--and why, with such broad support, these themes have not yet translated into workable legislation.
