Why Is Sacramento Growing So Quickly?

Sacramento County continues to benefit from the Bay Area's tight real-estate and labor markets.

Sacramento County surpassed both the San Jose and Oakland-San Francisco regions in monthly and annual employment growth in July. And while housing permits issued in San Jose dropped to 172 in July, a nearly 79% decrease from June and a 38% decline from a year earlier, Sacramento had 1,376 housing starts in July, a 39% jump from June and a 17% boost from a year earlier.
