Several states are watching the outcome of legal proceedings in Oregon closely.

There's a new challenge to Oregon laws aimed at controlling suburban development. Voters recently approved a measure that requires the state to compensate landowners who aren't allowed to develop their property or appeal restrictions on use of their land.
