Landscape architect seeks to convert the ecrepit warehouses and shuttered plants on Pittsburgh's riverfronts into assetts.
Moore, a landscape architect and principal with Pittsburgh architectural firm Burt Hill Kosar Rittelman Associates, is working with the nonprofit Riverlife Task Force, a group overseeing design and development along the city's waterfront. A plan is underway to revitalize a seven mile loop of riverfront property around the city with parks and trails. There are stumbling blocks, but that hardly deters Moore, who envisions the proposed Three Rivers Park filled someday with joggers, walkers and bicyclists. "Let's make our rivers an asset, not turn our backs on them," said Moore, an outdoors enthusiast who sees the trail park as one of the amenities that will help attract people to live Downtown.
