"A legendary Miami architect whose romantic tropical designs helped define Coconut Grove starting in the 1950s will lead the way again. George F. Reed's design won a competition to find an elegant and appropriate alternative to the McMansions that are invading Coconut Grove.

...NAMBIES is actually 16 residents of the North Grove who pooled their money and expertise in an effort to show that there were better ways to build. They bought a house of no real redeeming architectural value (an obvious teardown and future McMansion site) and determined to hold an open competition."
