[The] cities in that list had the highest median household incomes in the nation and above average population growth..." Plano, Tex. and Rancho Santa Margarita, Calif., topped the rankings of the most desirable places to live in the western United States. Naperville, Ill, and Woodbury, Minn. topped the rankings of the most desirable places to live in the central United States, and Cary, N.C. and Surgarland Run, Va., topped the rankings of the most desirable places to live in the eastern United States.
