The Ann Arbor City Council wants a more specific consideration of expenses before it will hold a final vote on the A2Zero carbon neutrality plan.
"A majority of Ann Arbor City Council members decided in an 8-3 vote not to adopt the city’s new carbon-neutrality plan Monday night, April 20," reports Ryan Stanton.
The carbon-neutrality plan, called the A2Zero plan, isn't totally dead, however. The council sent it back to city staff asking for more work on prioritizing the components of the plan.
"When a funding plan and prioritization framework are complete, council wants the city administrator to present the A2Zero plan to council for further consideration," according to Stanton.
To achieve carbon neutrality, the plan outlines strategies to deploy renewable energy, electric buses, and electric appliances and vehicles. More background on the plan is available in a previous article by Stanton and another article by Chris Teale.
