DC Gets Federal Funding For TOD Projects

Metro will allocate about $11.2 million in federal money for transit-oriented development in the District

"The funds will be used to revitalize areas around Metro stops in Anacostia, Columbia Heights, the U Street-Cardozo corridor and Rhode Island Avenue. Much of the money will go toward parking at projects under development. The money was made available to the District through the Transit Infrastructure Investment Program, in which a portion of proceeds from Metro's sale of real estate is set aside for transit-oriented development."
