Bus riders in Knoxville won’t have to wait at stops to know if the bus is running on schedule anymore. The city has just released a bus tracking app that uses GPS to track buses and to estimate their time of arrival. "Belinda Woodiel-Brill, KAT's director of communications and service development, said a real-time tracking app has been in the works for years," Ryan Wilusz reports for the Knoxville News Sentinel. Knoxville Area Transit (KAT) hopes riders will use this info to create more convenient trips around the city.

"The theme for the KATbus Tracker app is, 'It's about time.' Roberson said this slogan recognizes that people have been waiting for the app and that the technology can help riders use their time more efficiently," Wilusz writes.
