Mayor John Tory announced a 2018 expansion of bike share that will include 3,750 new bikes and 360 new stations.
The Canadian Federal Government and the municipal government of Toronto are splitting the bill for a big expansion of Bike Share Toronto. "The 2018 expansion will add a total of 90 new stations to the Bike Share Toronto network, growing the total of 360 stations, 3,750 bikes, and 6,200 docking points," Ainsley Smith reports for the Daily Hive.
The new locations will expand the geographical footprint of the program and add stations near transit stops to aid in intermodal transit. Mayor John Tory hailed the move as important for reducing congestion and creating a healthier city.
