Fulton County, Georgia, home to Atlanta, adopted the "2019 Sustainability Plan + Resilience" earlier this month, focused on addressing the effects of climate change.

"Climate change mitigation is the No. 1 priority named in the sustainability program approved unanimously by Fulton County’s Board of Commissioners," according to David Pendered.
The plan lists a series of "Transformational Strategic Initiatives," such as installing electric vehicle stations at county sites, constructing a rainwater harvesting demonstration project, grants for net-zero renewable energy projects, and a composting pilot project program.
As described by Pendered, the plan also calls for large, ambitious goals, such as reducing energy and water consumption by 20 percent for all county-owned facilities by 2025.
