"The new Apple store under construction on the Chicago River is starting to look a little familiar," reports David Matthews.

No, it doesn't resemble a space ship like the company's new headquarters in Cupertino. It does, however, resemble a laptop. One recalls the picnic basket-shaped building that formerly housed the Longaberger Company in Newark, Ohio.

Back to Chicago: "Construction crews on Thursday placed a big, white Apple logo on the roof of the new store at Pioneer Court, 401 N. Michigan Ave.," according to Matthews. The building also has a curved metallic roof, and based on photos from the construction site snapped by Matthews himself, we can confirm the resemblance to a Macbook.

The fun was short-lived, however, when "[l]ess than an hour later, however, crews rolled up the apple and took it away."
