Climate researchers are hoping to coordinate the efforts of Midwest cities toward creating plans and working toward more holistic approaches to climate change.
"A University of Nebraska-Lincoln research team has earned a grant to help 10 Midwest cities plan for extreme and damaging weather," according to an article by Shawna Ricter-Ryerson.
A $200,000 grant from the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration Climate Program Office's Sectoral Applications Research program will allow the team to research "critical precipitation levels" for municipal water management for the cities of Lincoln, Nebraska; Iowa City, Iowa; Columbia, Missouri; and Lawrence, Kansas.
