Creative Placemaking Leadership Summit. Build knowledge, skills and connections
The National Consortium for Creative Placemaking
Creative placemaking -- a new way to make places better with arts and culture -- is one of the fastest-growing fields in community and economic revitalization. More than 1,200 communities in the United States are pursuing this work, with support from leading grantmakers and government organizations. The Creative Placemaking Leadership Summit, March 18, at Rutgers University in Newark, NJ, is a great way to build your knowledge, skills and connections.
The Summit brings together urban planners, real estate development professionals, grantmakers, community and economic development professionals, civic artists and cultural leaders for workshops and peer learning. With leading experts and their peers, Summit attendees will explore ways to do well and do good through creative placemaking. Whether you are just learning about this field or have been 'doing creative placemaking since before creative placemaking was cool', you can get a lot of value at the Summit.
Workshops cover such topics as:
- How to lead creative placemaking efforts in your community
- Conducting market analysis for arts-related uses
- Integrating arts uses in property development
- Tools for creative community building
- Learning from success stories of NEA Our Town grantees
