The Economist Intelligence Unit (EIU) released its Safe Cities Index 2015, finding that Asian cities lead the world in several measures of security.
Reporting for Global Post, Timothy McGrath shares the rankings generated by EIU's "Safe Cities Index 2015." The index measures digital security, health security, infrastructure security, and personal safety. Tokyo, Singapore, and Osaka place one, two, and three on the list, respectively.
If you're looking for a city in the Western Hemisphere, you'll have to look down the list to Toronto at 8 and New York at 10.
McGrath notes the odd lack of overlap between the EIU's own index of livability, released in 2014, and the Safe Cities Index.
