San Francisco Conference on Financing and Strategies for Sustainable Housing and Community Development
The Partnership for Sustainable Communities
The San Francisco Conference on "Financing and Strategies for Sustainable Housing and Community Development" will provide practical information on how to finance transit-oriented development, affordable housing, mixed-use and walkable infill development. It will also look closely at the financial aspects of energy and water efficient construction and renewable energy generation.
"We have a uniquely practical focus on financing and feasibility that will meet the needs of for-profit and nonprofit developers as well as related professionals and government officials in housing and community development," said Conference Chairman Andre Shashaty. "Plus, our expert speakers and interactive session format guarantees attendees an excellent learning and networking opportunity."
The conference will reveal new strategies for cities and developers to work together to get deals done by tapping new funding sources and finding new ways to collaborate.
"No other event on the west coast offers such a practical program of high-level sessions," said Shashaty.
Shashaty is president of the Partnership for Sustainable Communities and the Editor-in-Chief of Sustainable Communities magazine. Shashaty founded Affordable Housing Finance and Apartment Finance Today magazines and launched several widely-acclaimed industry conferences, including AHF Live: The Tax Credit Developer's Summit.
He was editor of the magazines and chair of the conferences until 2008. Shashaty brings 30 years of experience in writing and publishing on housing and community development to this event.
