U.S. Transportation Secretary Norman Mineta wants to get more people off the roads where they create traffic and pollution. The Department is testing a pilot program in which they offer companies a suite of tax benefits based on the number of employees they can convince to work from home. "Los Angeles is one of five cities chosen for the pilot project, which is being administered by the federal Environmental Protection Agency. The cities, which include Houston, Denver, Philadelphia and Washington, were chosen because of their poor air quality."
