Beyond training: BOCEP courses help you build expertise in public participation, urban design, economic development and more
Rutgers University Professional Development Institute
Bloustein Online Continuing Education Program courses are designed to help the best and brightest in our profession get smarter. Our convenient and affordable deep learning courses help you enhance your practice by developing both your knowledge and skills. We offer more than 20 courses in community development, economic development, planning law, professional practice, sustainable development and urban design.
The next set of BOCEP Deep Learning courses, running from January 20 to February 27, are:
*Environmental Planning Law
*Form Based Codes Studio
*Introduction to Environmental Planning
*Introduction to Geographic Information Systems
*Planning in the Age of Direct Democracy
*Pro Formas
You can complete the courses at your convenience from virtually any computer. And they are interactive. You learn from seasoned practitioners and with other smart professionals like yourself. How does it work? Learners participate in facilitated discussions through discussion boards. Everyone is encouraged to participate at least once every other day (the best learners go on every day.) This keeps the conversations fresh and gives you time to think and reflect.
Why does it work? BOCEP Deep Learning classes are 5.5 weeks long, which give you the time to learn, practice, and share your insights (or learn from others). Though the courses are taught at a graduate level, they give you practical knowledge that you can begin using right away. Several courses, such as the Form Based Codes Studio, offer virtual hands-on training, in which you work on a real project for a real client. Our courses are taught by seasoned practitioners committed to your professional development.
Other benefits? All of these courses are eligible for 14 AICP Certification Maintenance credits. Every BOCEP Deep Learning course can be applied to a Bloustein Professional Certificate. These certificates, issued by Rutgers University's Edward J. Bloustein School of Planning and Public Policy, demonstrate your knowledge. Unlike some other continuing education programs, you don't get a Professional Certificate just for "participating." You have to earn it.
Each course is $295. Through our partnership with Planetizen, readers can get a $50 reduction on each course. Please use Promotion Code BGBBS. The reduction is only available to the first 10 registrants.
BOCEP is produced by Rutgers University's Professional Development Institute. With more than 800 learners in 2009 alone, we are one of the nation's leading providers of online education in the planning field.
