Urban Insight
Increasingly, a number of planning organizations have turned to open source web content management systems to power their websites.
Drupal (pronounced /'dru-pal/) is a popular, flexible, free and open source web content management system. It is used to power many different types of websites, ranging from small personal blogs to large corporate, entertainment and political sites.
In the planning community, organizations such as Planetizen, CNU, Open Architecture Network, Recovery.gov (and many others) have adopted Drupal to power their websites. Because Drupal is so flexible and powerful, it can sometimes be confusing to new users.
