The International Economic Development Council (IEDC) presents the 2009 Web Seminar Series – a cost-effective, professional development program. The series provides an online environment for economic developers to learn about cutting-edge research, techniques, and tools that are prevalent in the field.
Companies are quickly realizing that ‘green' is good for the bottom line. Renewable energy technologies – solar, wind, geothermal, biomass and others – can help businesses both save money and attract customers. Your role is to help them become aware of the alternative energy options available in your community, and your local utility can be your biggest ally.
On May 28, hear leaders from forward-thinking, proactive utility companies provide insight and tips into the benefits economic development-utility partnerships.
• Find out how renewable energies can benefit businesses and create new jobs
• Understand the roles that utility companies can play in sustainable economic development
• Explore how to work collaboratively with your local utility company
*SPEAKERS*
Speakers Bruce Braine and Ervan Hancock III bring to the web seminar experience in federal and state energy and environmental policy, energy long term strategy development and analysis, corporate sustainability, renewable research programs and energy efficiency. These two utility executives will explain how businesses can benefit from renewable energies, the new job opportunities from alternative energies and how economic developers can collaborate with their local utility companies.
