The International Economic Development Council (IEDC) presents the 2009 Web Seminar Series – a cost-effective, professional development program. The series provides an online environment for economic developers to learn about cutting-edge research, techniques, and tools that are prevalent in the field.
Mobility is a defining characteristic of today's skilled young professionals, who often choose where to live first and then look for a job. With many communities vying to draw the same workers, the use of social networking tools, blogs, and other web-based resources have become key strategies in attracting and retaining the young and talented. EDOs that want to engage these workers can't afford to be out of the loop when it comes to using Facebook, MySpace, Twitter and other effective, inexpensive tools.
Join IEDC on March 26 to learn how your community can use Web 2.0 to create a competitive advantage in talent attraction.
This web seminar will:
• Provide an overview of commonly used tools including the strengths and limitations of each
• Explain effective ways to use these technologies to reach different audiences
• Help EDOs understand what content to use in each service and how
