Director of the Local Planning Assistance Unit

This position will serve as the Director of the Local Planning Assistance Unit. Successful candidate will manage and supervise the department's local planning assistance section which provides general technical support and planning assistance to the Department and state, regional, local governments and planning stakeholders on a variety of issues including, Smart Growth, land use, environment, preservation and conservation, development, watershed planning analysis, and local planning innovations & challenges. This position coordinates MDP's local plan review and comment process (includes comprehensive plans and other planning documents).
Education: Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Master's degree in Planning.
Experience: Eight years of planning experience with two years at management level.
Preferred Qualifications: AICP certification and experience with GIS and land use analysis concepts and Local government planning experience.
