Time is running out to get registered for the most important smart growth event of 2008. More than 1,500 participants attended last year's conference. The 7th Annual New Partners for Smart Growth conference will be held February 7-9, at the Marriott Wardman Park Hotel in Washington, DC. Registration deadline is Friday, January 25.
Conference hotel rates: $201 single occupancy or $231 double occupancy. The reservation cut-off date for the group rate is Monday, January 14. To receive this rate, call (800) 228-9290 and indicate you're attending the New Partners Conference.
There's something for everybody, from veteran experts to smart-growth novices, with over 100 sessions and workshops. Learn from hundreds of speakers who cross disciplines to share insights, valuable tools and strategies for making smart growth a success in your community. Network with your peers and practitioners from different disciplines with the same goal – building safe, healthy and livable communities. The three-day program features dynamic plenaries, cutting-edge issues, the latest research, implementation tools and strategies, successful case studies, and new partners, projects and policies. Fourteen optional tours of model projects also give you another great way to "see" our nation's capital.
In connection with the New Partners Conference, an Advocacy Day on Capitol Hill is being organized on Wednesday, February 6, 2008. Join smart growth advocates from around the country on Capitol Hill! Advocacy Day is a great way to take full advantage of this year's conference location in our nation's capital. Advocates will visit with their representatives to talk about key smart growth issues facing the 110th Congress. It's your chance to support a smart growth agenda in Congress.
Participation couldn't be easier and it's free. Your congressional meetings will be conducted with other advocates from your state and district. All the scheduling details will be handled for you based on your registration. Plus, you'll receive free issue briefing and advance legislative advocacy training. We also provide all the materials you need to leave behind with your elected representatives.
