DIRECTOR OF PLANNING & DEVELOPMENT SERVICES

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
Education should include a minimum of a Master's Degree in public administration, community development, architecture, real estate, public policy, urban/regional planning or related fields. Extensive public sector experience may be substituted for graduate education. Extensive experience in planning, economic development, redevelopment & growth management programs in a public sector or public sector related organization must be evident in background. This includes a stable history of five to seven years in progressively responsible positions within complex customer service driven organizations that provide services in communities dealing with development & redevelopment issues. Experience in an organization with staff size & overall operating budget similar to the City of Commerce City's Planning & Development Services Department is needed. Experience in the implementation of "customer friendly" concepts & strong experience in economic development is highly desirable. An AICP designation is highly desired.
