University As Civic Partner Conference
Phoenix Urban Research Laboratory
February 14 2008-February 16 2008, Phoenix, AZ
University as Civic Partner
Phoenix Urban Research Laboratory, an urban design/research center of the College of Design at Arizona State University, will convene academic and civic leaders from around the country to explore a major shift in campus and urban planning: the increasing depth and range of partnerships between universities and cities. Cosponsored by the Lincoln Institute of Land Policy, the conference will look at how universities are moving from enclave to engagement, and at how progressive cities are recognizing universities as catalysts of innovation, creativity, and prosperity. A diverse group of speakers, including university administrators, architects, planners, city officials, developers and community leaders, will focus on issues ranging from place-making to program and policy.
