Be Good, Be Better With BOCEP Courses On Professional Practice And Environmental Planning
Rutgers University, Edward J. Bloustein School of Planning and Public Policy
Here's one of the biggest differences between great artists, leaders and professionals and their colleagues: The great ones not only do their work well -- they also think about how to do it better. Helping you become more effective, efficient and productive is the focus of this summer's BOCEP courses in professional practice. We're offering four such courses in June and July.
Professional's Writing Studio II, which I describe above, will help you become a better writer.
Cultural Competency will help you be more effective in working with, and leading, diverse organizations and communities. If you think "cultural competency" is just about "being nice to people who are different from you," you'll come away surprised at how much you can learn, and how challenging it is to be culturally competent.
If you manage staff or lead teams, Improving Staff Performance will help discover and create low-cost ways to motivate people within your organization. None of your staff are going to tell you that you are not motivating them, but there are many ways they will show it. This course will help you be a better manager.
How can you better influence clients and colleagues? Learn how in Effective Client Relations.
In addition to our professional practice courses, we're also offering Introduction to Environmental Planning. This course will help any planner who wants to get a good grounding in environmental planning, or those who want a refresher course. Introduction to Environmental Planning covers the major issues in this subject and also explores the connections between environmental planning and economic development.
Introduction to Environmental Planning and Professional's Writing Studio II run from June 6 to July 14. Cultural Competency, Improving Staff Performance and Effective Client Relations run from June 20 to July 28. Students who are taking vacations during the summer will get extra time to complete their courses.
Planetizen subscribers pay only $235 per course. Please use discount code 6874f when registering.
