Our spring/summer program begins May 16. Here are some of the courses beginning in May:
Here's a little more about some of those courses:
One of the hottest economic development trends today is attracting creative professionals to a place. One way to do that is promoting arts and cultural development. Louise Stevens, one of the nation's leading experts on this subject, will be teaching Arts and Cultural Development: Gaining the Benefits of the Creative Economy.
Few issues in our field are as challenging as promoting and developing high quality affordable housing. In Affordable Housing Strategies, Michael Skrebutenas will help you explore some of the key policy and financial considerations of this important subject.
We often plan for youth, but how often do we plan with them? Dawn Jourdan will help you learn how to get children and teens involved in planning in Youth Participation: Giving Young People a Seat at the Planning Table.
To be successful in our fields, you have to be able to understand and speak the language of developers. Developer's Toolbox: Retail Market Analysis is the third in our set of courses in real estate development. Deborah Brett, who has more than 30 years of experience in this field and is recognized as an expert by no less than the Urban Land Institute, will teach you the analytical tools you need to create and work with market studies.

In BOCEP courses, you can share ideas with professionals at all levels from around the United States. You will gain knowledge and skills from seasoned practitioners and by having the time to practice and reflect on what you learned in class. Most students surveyed said they learned a lot in their BOCEP course and that they would recommend the program to their colleagues.
